A Young Tenor from the Pacific Northwest

Yes, Your Intrepid Reporter is prejudiced in this matter: he is reporting that his elder son is now a young professional-level tenor opera singer, even though there is not the critical acclaim that such an assertion usually employs to establish the truth of the value statement.

In this case I am pleased to offer you the evidence for the claim.  You can judge for yourself.

Here is the video my son submitted when applying for admission to Stanford University this week, in order to demonstrate that he had skills they ought to take into account in considering his admission.

In order for you to compare (what I claim is) the significant improvement and enrichment of my elder son’s singing, set aside my own bias, dear reader; set aside the fact that the room behind is a rather trash-filled classroom, and just listen.  You will have to admit the truth — here is a new tenor, living right here in our Northeast Portland neighborhood, who sings like an angel.
