Walt Brown was the nominee for President of the Socialist Party of America, once upon a time in a kingdom long ago.
He also ran on the Pacific Green Party line, for Oregon Attorney General. We got to be good friends.
Walt Brown’s sons rejected him. They convinced an Oregon court to declare that he was incompetent to handle his considerable fortune, and he fled the state where he had lived and worked and raised his family, and decamped to North Carolina, which does not recognize such deprival of right to your own money for any reason.
My sons have followed suit.
Both my elder, Michael Kepler, who called me “scum” the other day, and the younger, who hasn’t spoken to me in weeks.
As for my dear spouse Trudy, she called the police on me just the other day.
The new kind of politician: his neighbors cant stand him, his wife regards him as insane, and his sons hate him.
Vote for me because I speak the truth.
Update 1 June 2016: My wife refused to allow me to speak to my son, who is living at her house, and I insisted and walked past her to his room. The police arrested me for that, and released me the same day. I made it clear in the course of events that the issue was my being allowed to speak to my son.
The second attempt to contact my son was turned aside by Trudy never answering the door. She stood at the door, through which I could see her, and phoned the police. She had the son whom I wished to speak with taking a videotape of me asking to see him, with her refusing to answer.
I allowed the police to arrest me. The point was, they were stationed outside my house and would have had to stay there indefinitely, so after an hour of verbally feuding with them (and agreeing to their repeated requests “just to talk” from Arresting Officer David McGuffey), I was arrested and spent the next two days in police custody.
Yesterday Judge Amy Holmes Hehn issued a one-year restraining order prohibiting me from contacting Trudy or either of my sons for the next year. So much for custody. Trudy has been awarded exclusive custody during that time.
I was not present at the hearing, and hearsay evidence was allowed. This is present legal procedure in family disputes.
But the devil is in the details, and if any one reading this account has an interest in how things are handled in family disputes in the United States in 2016, I am prepared to report my experience in detail.
Update 1 June 2016: All charges dismissed. Arrested twice during the weekend, kept in jail for two days while a year-long restraining order was prepared and issued. But all of the charges of (the usual, guys: cops are so predictable) criminal trespassing II — which is what the Fred Meyer folks wanted, since I was seen walking from one end of their store to another while the police had a stake-out at my house — all of those charges that were the basis of the two arrests of Your Intrepid Reporter on the lawn of his house at 2925 Northeast Weidler Street, the aforesaid headquarters of the Cascadia Chapter and residence of its secretary, were dismissed this morning.
