An Open Letter to Willamette Week editor on Earl Blumenauer’s Spotty Memory

Brent Walth
News Editor, Willamette Week

Dear Mr Walth,

This is the bill providing funding for Syrian rebels that Mr Blumenauer, in our meeting at your office, said he did not remember.

Here is the roll call showing his vote in favor.

This is the resolution, complete with bill number, that supported Israel while it was massacring. civilians in Gaza. Note that it was passed unanimously. You may recall Mr Blumenauer was unable to recall his vote here, either.

This is the resolution which appropriated money, on an emergency basis, for Israeli armaments in the midst of the Gaza bombing. Here is the roll call showing Mr Blumenauer not voting.

What a contrast between Mr Blumenauer’s awesome, circumstantial, impromptu recall of a host of detail regarding transportation, insurance, river cleanup, appropriations, and so on, and his complete blank on his consistent support for Israeli aggression against Palestinians!

Please take note of that when deciding whom to endorse.

Cordially yours,

Michael Meo
Pacific Green Party nominee for US House of Representatives, 3rd District of Oregon

Update: Brent Walth replied virtually immediately promising to check the details.
