If at first you don’t succeed

Right at the beginning of the meeting of the Community and Postal Workers United, Trudy reported here at the Eighteenth Street Peace House at seven this evening, that 125 people attended the Drone Forum.
Jamie Partridge, co- with John Schweibert -leader of CPWU, called upon Your Intrepid Reporter to summarize for the group the response of Commissioner Amanda Fritz on Monday 11 August at 1:30 at her office in City Hall; that is, asked to introduce a resolution to City Council to denounce in the most ringing terms the privatization of the People’s Postal Service, she suggested that CPWU contact the so-called Office of Government Relations, the lobbyist for the City of Portland, in Washington, DC.
Cass Martinez, Nancy Newell, Ben Poe, John McRae, and Trudy all considered that a “fail,” as my surly teen-agers tend to term it. I am committed to contact the other relatively receptive City Commissioner — Steve Novick.
So at eight o’clock, after an hour, and once I undertook a new responsibility, I left: hey, I’m a busy guy.
